Base for the production of oil paints 200ml - 50810

Base for easy production of your own oil paints. It is designed for pasty oil paints and already contains everything important except the pigment itself (hence the name "ready to use"). The well-balanced ratio of several types of oils (mainly linseed) and siccative helps to ensure high quality of the paint and a consistent gentle drying process after the paint has been applied. Thanks to the very little yellowing, it is also suitable for light shades.

Use: Shake before use. Spread a teaspoon of pigment on a glass plate or flat glass tile and stir in the appropriate amount of base. The base/binder ratio depends very much on the type of pigment (each has slightly different properties, weight,...). If you are inexperienced with the pigment, start with about 1 part base to 1 part pigment. Mix thoroughly together, for example with a spatula or spoon. Depending on this mixture, add either pigment or base until the paint is the right consistency for use. Ideal proportions have been achieved if the dried paint strokes have a smooth surface and do not curl.

You can either use the paint straight away or store it in a closed container - preferably glass or metal. You can dilute the paint and the base itself with turpentine and various thinners for oil paints, you can also use them to wash the tools you use. Of course, you can also use several pigments at once to achieve the original shade, in which case we recommend mixing even more thoroughly than when using only one pigment.
