B. Křemenová: Mixing colors 22.9.2024 Pilsen

About the course:

Knowing that this is one of the most important pillars of working with color, we respond to the growing number of questions about color theory and color mixing, among other things. Since the usual weekend workshops do not offer enough space for a more detailed exploration of this topic, we decided to organize a special course dedicated to this issue.

In this course we will focus on the theory of the colour spectrum, explaining the basic concepts of primary, secondary and tertiary colours and learning how to mix them correctly. We will discuss concepts such as tone and valence, and learn to distinguish between warm and cool tones. We will also look at the theory of colour perspective and contrast, with practical exercises showing how complementary colours can be used to create a spatial effect. The course will result in four smaller canvases that will serve as a swatch book and a useful tool for further colour mixing in your work.

We will work with acrylic paints. You do not need to bring any of your own supplies to the course.
The course is suitable for everyone, children up to 15 years of age accompanied by their parents.

Lecturer: Blanka Křemenová

A few words about the lecturer:

Blanka Křemenová is a painter originally from Příbram, working and living in Pilsen and Prague. In addition to her own work, she conducts private art courses in her studio in Pilsen, courses and workshops for the public in the Pilsen studio Výtvarno and in the Prague studio Vytvarny atelier of painting and drawing.

Using mostly classical painting techniques, he creates figurative compositions and portraits, which he places in allegorical contexts in combination with abstract elements. Thematically, he focuses on social, cultural, historical and philosophical issues. The focus of her attention is on the human being as a tool for expressing the inner world of the individual, but also interpersonal relationships and transcendent universal phenomena. Her work is represented in private collections both at home and abroad.

Course duration: 10:00 - 17:00 (including lunch break)
Materials are included in the price of the course.
The number of participants on the course is limited to 15, the minimum number of participants is 5.
The course is suitable for everyone, children up to 15 years of age accompanied by their parents.

Cancellation policy: If you cancel your participation more than one week before the start of the course, you will be refunded in full or offered a place on another course. If you cancel less than one week before the course starts, you will be charged 100% of the cancellation fee. The course organiser reserves the right to cancel a course if there are insufficient numbers of participants. In this case you will be offered a place on another course or a full refund.
