Restoration
Oil painting cleaner Schmincke based on wax 35ml - 50018Pasty emulsion suitable for cleaning dust and dirt from old oil paintings. It is colourless, based on wax and mineral spirits - but you can dilute it with water. Apply gently with a cloth or sponge, always a little at a time. Leave the emulsion on the surface for a short time and then gently remove the emulsion along with the dirt from the painting. The duration of action varies according to the amount of dirt, etc., we recommend within a few minutes.
Always test for each painting separately before use! In our experience, older paintings can often be a combination of several techniques and, for example, gouache or tempera will be damaged when you use the product.
