Pastelmat is a popular velour paper for pastel and chalk work. It is suitable for very precise work, the pastel particles adhere well to the paper and offers the possibility of layering and blending individual layers. You also save 30-40% of the pastel compared to regular paper, which is due to the fact that while velour paper holds most of the material, some of it falls off regular paper. The pastel also spreads very well on paper - either with the finger, or with erasers and special knives.
